Would you tell us something about you and your family?
Well, the toughest job in this world is to analyze oneself. I am a cool guy with lot of innovation in my work area and on the other side of life, uncomplicated, with both feet on the ground, trying to lead my life in a practical way. I completed my basic education from Durgapur, my birth place. Thereafter, I moved to Kolkata for graduation from Goenka College and to INC Durgapur for my MBA in the year 2005. I am currently working with Canopy Projects Ltd. Going back to my personal life, my elder brother is working with Accenture Bengaluru, younger brother at IBM Bengaluru and my sister is a lecturer in a college. My father and mother are enjoying well-earned rest at home.
How did you prepare yourself for your career after passing out from INC?
Career is a word, which most students don’t focus on during their student days. I personally feel that one should be very clear in which particular sector one wants to build the career and gain experience accordingly. One should never change sectors frequently, which leads to loss of specific experience. Right now, I am into the construction industry for the last one and half years and am eager to learn more, because learning is a never ending process…..So one should be focused and clear in one’s vision.
With the kind of profile you have, you must be facing high pressure situations. How do you manage?
I personally don’t think that a person needs to have a high profile for handling corporate pressure. Experience will keep helping you sharpen your skills and ability to handle the pressure. Try to set work priorities and keep your seniors always in the loop, so that you will always be in focus. This is the best way to handle pressure.
How do you balance your work and family life?
Again a tough question to answer. No doubt, balancing both work and family life is really a tough job, but I try to manage with the use of Sundays and rare holidays that we get to catch up.
What are the points of learning?
Be focused in life and try to involve your seniors as they have accumulated all the experience in reaching there. Be focused on your goal.
What advice would you like to give to the students at INC in general?
INC is just the platform; utilizing the platform is in your hands. Keep on exploring career opportunities and never get too dependent in your college.
How do you spend your leisure hours?
Surfing, looking for new opportunities; going out with friends and family.
How much contact do you have with your INC friends? How often do you meet?
Not all of them. I meet a few regularly.
What have been your biggest lessons so far in life?
Think 100 times before leaving your current job………………
